Sound quality: Edifier's R2850DB had very good overall sound quality - although it has some noticeable sonic quirks, this model reproduces music and dialog very well. Bass has good impact and goes deep, is a touch prominent and a bit boomy. Midrange is even, but is a touch grainy, hazy, and congested. Treble is extended and fairly detailed but is a touch subdued. It does a good job of recovering room ambience and is fairly detailed but sounds slightly congested. The two channel sound field extends a bit above and to the sides of the sides of the speaker enclosures. Because these are two separate speakers they can be placed to provide better stereo separation than many other models. Individual instruments and voices are identifiable and have a two dimensional.
