Sound quality: Fluance's Fi70 had very good overall sound quality - although it has some noticeable sonic quirks, this model reproduces music and dialog very well. Bass has good impact and goes deep but is a bit prominent and boomy and depending on content, deep bass can be somewhat prominent. Midrange is fairly even, but is a bit hazy and grainy. Treble is fairly extended but is a bit smeared, and a touch subdued and papery. It does a decent job of recovering room ambience and the overall sound is a bit congested. No significant difference between Bluetooth, Aux, RCA and Optical sound quality. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room.
Ease of use: We found the Fluance Fi70 ease of use to be very good overall. Bluetooth setup: Unit is always in pairing mode when not already paired, has pairing mode indicator and indicates when pairing has occurred and never times out. Console controls: The volume control is a non persistent numerical backlit display. There is no volume label, but +/- symbol indicates it is a volume control. Source selection: Well marked source selection button with a non persistent source selection display.
