Sound quality: House of Marley's One Foundation had good overall sound quality. Bass has good impact and goes deep but is somewhat boomy and slightly prominent. Midrange is fairly even but is somewhat hazy and grainy. Treble is fairly extended but slightly soft and mid treble is somewhat subdued. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience, and sounds somewhat congested and is lacking in detail. There is no significant difference between WiFi, Bluetooth, Optical and Aux inputs. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room.
Ease of use: We found the House of Marley One Foundation ease of use to be good overall. WiFi Setup: This setup was among the least intuitive of setups which requires selecting the transmitted WiFi ID of the Foundation, (and if successful) an auto launch of a web page to select the desired SSID and enter its password, naming the speaker. However, if the web page fails to auto launch then open a browser and enter an the provided IP address. Once the browser page setup is complete then open the AllPlay Jukebox app on a device connected to the same network the speaker was paired. DLNA access is available in app but there are no instructions for its setup. Bluetooth pairing requires a press of a unmarked multi-function button on unit or selecting the Bluetooth input with the provided physical remote and then the selection of unit from Bluetooth selection list on source device; unit provides an obvious indication that the unit is in pairing mode as well as when pairing has actually occurred. App remote: As follows the remote app experience of controlling the volume is good, muting content and provided transport controls are excellent and selecting sources via the app was only fair where it did allow access to wireless source but not wired.
