Sound quality: iHome's iBT9 had fair overall sound quality. Bass has so-so impact, is subdued and lower bass is lacking. Midrange is somewhat constricted, hazy and a bit gritty. Treble is somewhat smeared and upper treble is subdued. Doesn't do a good job of recovering room ambience and is somewhat congested. Bluetooth and wired sound quality are similar. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room.
Ease of use: We found the iHome ease of use to be very good overall. Bluetooth pairing: Unit is always in pairing mode when not already paired, shows a pairing mode indicator. Indicates when pairing mode has occurred. The volume control are low contrast labeled buttons (+/-) which is prominently placed. Switching sources involves directly plugging a wired source and line-in audio plays, however, Bluetooth has priority and will play without the need to disconnect a wired source. Aux input has low contrast labeling. Nothing ambiguous.
