Sound quality: Ikea's Vappeby had Good overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has good impact but is a touch boomy and does not go deep. Midrange is somewhat grainy, a bit hazy, plasticky, and sibilant, and a touch nasal. Treble is fairly extended but is a bit prominent and somewhat smeared and sizzly. Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience and sounds somewhat congested. The speaker is monophonic. Provides a decent volume level in a small sized room.
