Sound quality: The JBL PartyBox 200 has good overall sound quality. Bass has good impact and goes deep but is boomy and somewhat prominent. Midrange is fairly even but somewhat hazy, and a bit muffled. Treble is subdued, somewhat smeared and upper treble is muted. Does a so so job of recovering room ambience, sounds somewhat congested and is lacking in detail. Can provide enough volume to be heard in a large sized room. There is no signficant difference between the Bluetooth, Aux, RCA and USB sound quality. When combined with a second unit to form a stereo pair it can get louder but it remains somewhat congested - scores the same as single unit.
Ease of use: Overall ease of use of the JBL PartyBox 200 is very good. Volume controls are prominent +/- buttons with no volume label but has graphical indicators of volume level displayed around the speakers which are not persistent and is easily repeatable and easy to actuate. Analog (line-in) and wireless volume control action and features are the same. Source Seletion: Several sources are available and working with them is a mixed bag as follows: Bluetooth has priority when line-in/Aux is connected but must pause the Bluetooth source not disconnect pairing to play line-in. If USB is connected, then it has priority over Bluetooth and Line-in; then USB content must be paused for Bluetooth to take over but line in is skipped until USB is physically disconnected from unit. Bluetooth pairing is excellent; Unit is always in pairing mode when not already paired, shows a pairing mode indicator. Indicates when pairing mode has occurred and never times out.
