Sound quality: The Marshall Woburn II has good overall sound quality. Bass has good impact and goes deep but is somewhat prominent and boomy. Midrange is fairly even but is somewhat hazy, grainy and a bit etched. Treble is fairly extended but a bit subdued and smeared. Does a decent job recovering room ambience, sounds somewhat congested and is lacking in detail. Bluetooth, Aux and RCA sound quality are similar. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room.
Ease of use: We found the Marshall Woburn II ease of use to be fair overall - but could have been Very good. This was due to Bluetooth pairing. Bluetooth pairing unlike other Marshall speaker models previously tested - this model was poor for pairing - it would have scored good but it glitches in pairing with iOS devices - pairs as instructed with Android mobile devices. In addition, the Marshall Bluetooth app is a prerequisite to pairing which is more steps to pairing than most models tested. The controls on the unit are extremely easy to use, well labeled and intuitive and switching between sources is clear. This unit has an app remote "Marshall Bluetooth" which is needed for Bluetooth pairing and to access other features such as the multi-band equilizer.
