Sound quality: Martin Logan's Crecendo X had very good sound quality overall. Bass has good impact and goes fairly deep but is somewhat prominent and boomy. Midrange is moderately even but somewhat hazy, and slightly constricted. Treble is subdued and upper treble is muted. Doesn't do a good job of recovering room ambience and is somewhat congested and lacking in detail and complexity. There is no significant difference between WiFi, Bluetooth and Aux input. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room.
Ease of use: We found the Martin Logan Crecendo X ease of use to be good overall. WiFi: Setup requires an app downloaded to a device or device connection, easy and intuitive - need instructions (may be included in app), involves inputting WiFi network password. WPS Method: WPS setup (only applicable for those with WPS routers): three steps - push button on back of unit, push WPS button on router, wait for connection. Connects within 30 seconds to 1 min. Airplay Setup: Requires the press of the setup button on unit, then selection of Play-Fi wireless on source device and following Airplay setup instructions on Apple device. DLNA: DLNA is not mentioned and key steps are omitted and does not explain how to connect in DLNA systems. Bluetooth: Source button selection of Bluetooth mode to initiate pairing mode. Lacks pairing mode indicator and when pairing is complete and must manually reconnect to Bluetooth. Mute: is unlabeled and is a multifunction button labeled power; when mute is engaged there is a persistent indicator. Console source selection: A source button that is prominent but is not clearly labeled and does not clearly indicate with words or symbols which source has been selected. Ambiguously uses an LED colored light per input. Remote app: Volume control is well marked (slider next to a speaker symbol), and shows positional indication of level but no numeric or hash mark references, fine volume adjustments require a steady hand. Mute control is a bit hard to see but has mute symbol (the small speaker symbol next to the volume slider), when engaged clearly indicates that the unit is muted (with a not symbol). Transport controls uses standard play/pause, skip controls, lacks scan but has a scrub bar. The app occasionally glitched, stopped responding or lost connection to speaker.
