Sound quality: Naim's MuSo QB had good overall sound quality. Bass has good impact and goes deep but is somewhat prominent and boomy. Upper midrange is slightly recessed and overall midrange is somewhat soft and hazy, and slightly grainy. Treble is somewhat soft, subdued and upper treble is muted. Does a so so job of recovering room ambience and is somewhat congested and lacking in detail and complexity. There is no significant difference between WiFi, Bluetooth, Optical, USB/Ipod Dock and Aux input. Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room.
Ease of use: We found the Naim MuSo QB ease of use to be good overall. WiFi: Setup requires an app downloaded to a device, easy and intuitive - need instructions (may be included in app), may or may not involve inputting WiFi network password. Bluetooth: Unit is always in pairing mode when not already paired, shows a pairing mode indicator; indicates when pairing mode has occurred and never times out. However, must manually reconnect; not re-pair to Bluetooth source. DLNA: Indication of UPNP and server access of content but no instructions on how to connect. Console controls: The volume control is a large, prominent dial, however it is unlabeled. Volume level is a non-persistent graphical display. Analog (line-in) and wireless volume control action and features are the same. Mute: It is well marked, well placed, but no indication on unit when muting is engaged and mute function does not work on Line-In. Source selection: Wireless Sources (Bluetooth, WiFi and AirPlay): must be selected directly from source device and when selected a universal symbol is displayed on console. However, wired (Optical, AUX and USB) source selection provide ambiguous indicators on console for wired connections. As follows the remote app experience of controlling the volume, muting content and selecting sources was good and provided transport controls was very good.
