Sound quality: Samsung's T70 Giga Party had Fair overall sound quality. In the standard sound mode setting, the bass has good impact, and goes fairly deep, but is prominent and tubby. The upper midrange is somewhat subdued, and overall the midrange is somewhat dark, congested, muffled, grainy, plasticky, and overwhelmed by the bass. The treble is subdued and smeared. It overall does a so so job recovering room ambience, and sounds somewhat congested. The speaker is monophonic in Standard mode. The other sound modes are stereo and in those modes there is obvious left right stereo separation. Besides the stereo effect, the other sound modes make an obvious difference in the sound. This unit has a built in fan, and noise from the fan can sometimes be heard. When combined with a second unit to form a stereo pair the sound becomes more muffled, the overall score drops in score but remains fair. No significant difference between Bluetooth, Aux, RCA and USB inputs. Provides a substantial volume level in a large sized room.
Ease of use: We found the Samsung T70 Giga Party ease of use to be Very Good overall. Bluetooth pairing is very easy and requires a press of a low contrast button on the back of the unit and then the selection of unit from Bluetooth selection list on source device; the unit provides an obvious indication that the unit is in pairing mode as well as when pairing has actually occurred. However, must manually reconnect (but not re-repair) to source device after turn off. The volume controls are +/- buttons and there is a non-persistent numerical volume display on the top of the unit. The input source button is prominent and clearly labeled and there is a display on top of unit that clearly indicates with words which source has been selected.
