Sound quality: The Samsung WAM7500 Radiant 360 Solo has good overall sound quality. Bass is a bit pronounced and boomy and deep bass is lacking. Midrange is a bit edgy and nasal. Treble is extended and fairly even. We found the speaker doesn't do a good job recovering room ambience, and it has a dry, boxy sound. There's also a subtle "swooshy" quality in the midrange and treble. However, when two of this model was combined to form a stereo pair it didn't do that well, where one speaker would continue to play both left and right program material and the other speaker played right or left program material. The device does, however, provide a good volume level in a medium-sized room. There's no significant sound-quality difference between Bluetooth and WiFi connections.
Ease of use: This speaker was relatively easy to use, although we did have some issues with the console controls. Because the unit is always in pairing mode, using Bluetooth was fairly simple. Connecting to a WiFi network was also easy using the downloaded Samsung Multiroom app. This speaker uses touch-sensitive controls with low-contrast labeling, which can make them hard to decipher. The source selector lets you switch between Bluetooth and Sound Connect modes. Otherwise the unit is always ready for a WiFi source. This speaker also lacks a physical remote, but the free Samsung Multiroom remote control app can fully function in that role for computers, the iPod Touch, and smartphones and tablets from Apple or Android. We found this app easy to use.
