Sound quality: Sony's XG300 had Good overall sound quality - this model reproduces music and dialog reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. Bass has good impact but is a bit boomy, and goes fairly deep. Midrange is even but is somewhat grainy and a bit hazy. Treble is fairly extended but is a bit sizzly and smeared. Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience, sounds somewhat congested. There is no significant difference between Bluetooth and Aux sound quality. Provides a decent volume level in a medium sized room. When two units are combined to form a stereo pair the sound field can be made wider depending on placement.

Can link up to 100 additional compatible Bluetooth speakers with Sony Party Connect feature. Mfg claims quick charge of 10 minutes provides 70 mins. of play. Can stereo pair with a second unit. To use the Stereo Pair function, 2 SRS-XG300 speakers are required. Has customizable lights with different lighting modes and patterns. Battery life/Battery Care mode feature claimed by manufacturer to increase rechargeable battery durability by limiting charge to 90% of battery maximum capacity. Has ambient noise sensing feature that uses built in mic to determine when you are outdoors and claims to save battery life. Free Sony Music Center app download for Apple and Android mobile devices can be used to adjust tonal balance, access audio content from various internet audio streaming service provider apps and audio files on the mobile device, and switch inputs. Unit firmware version: 2600, Apple app version 6.5.0, Android app version 6.5.0. Supports Google fast pair for Android devices.
