Design and features:Although this home/studio-style on-ear model lacks active noise reduction, the closed design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The headphones have high sensitivity, so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used even with lower-powered portable audio devices. The Solo 2 has a 52-inch detachable audio cable with an inline volume control that works with iPads and some iPod and iPhone models, plus an integrated microphone and player function controls that are compatible with iPads, some iPods, and some iPhones and some other cell phones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some iPhones and some other cellphones. These headphones may not operate properly with some non-Apple/non-Android mobile devices or other audio equipment. This model has earcups that can fold for travel and storage, and it comes with a carrying case.
Sound quality: We found the Solo2 delivers good overall sound, with a warm character. Bass has good impact and goes deep, but is pronounced and bottom-heavy. Midrange is soft and lacks detail, treble is a bit recessed, and upper treble is muted. The overall sound is somewhat closed-in, with decent dynamics.
Comfort: We found that these headphones can produce a sense of strong pressure on the ears, and the earpads might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use.
