Can You Take Too Many Vitamins?
The risk of adverse effects is higher with megadosing, which involves taking much more than the recommended amount
Intentionally or accidentally taking doses of vitamins that are higher than the tolerable upper intake level can cause uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects.
For example, high doses of magnesium can cause diarrhea and gastric cramping, and large amounts of a nutrient called choline can result in a fishy body odor. Excessive calcium can impair kidney function, and toxic amounts of vitamin D can increase the risk of heart arrhythmias.
