    Vibration plates are a bit controversial. CR spoke with several doctors about the at-home fitness devices, which work by delivering high-frequency, whole-body vibrations and are meant to stimulate muscle contractions and relaxations. We discovered fascinating information about their potential for improving blood and lymphatic flow and reducing swelling and pain. We also covered the lack of sufficient scientific evidence to support health claims about them.

    One thing is certain, though: Vibration plates are having a moment. They’re on TikTok, where fans show how they use them to enhance their fitness goals and help reduce muscle soreness and swelling. Two women I know purchased vibration plates this year. My gynecologist recommended a vibration plate when I complained about post-labor incontinence that occurs when I sprint. My mother even asked me, “Do you know anything about these vibration plates I’m hearing about?”
