It’s not uncommon for materials such as wood, plastic, and rubber to get into food during manufacturing. “Foreign objects in foods are a top reason why products are recalled,” says Sana Mujahid, PhD, manager of food safety research and testing at Consumer Reports. “They can cause mouth lacerations, broken teeth, digestive issues, or choking.”
If you’ve purchased these products, don’t eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund.
