    Three New Recalls Issued for Possibly Radioactive Shrimp

    Multiple brands of frozen and ready-to-eat shrimp are being pulled from Kroger, Food Lion, and other stores in over 40 states

    The announcement is part of a growing wave of radiation-related recalls that started in August. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of shrimp have been pulled off shelves at Kroger, Walmart, and other major retailers after Cesium-137 was detected in shipping containers carrying shrimp from Indonesia to four U.S. ports.

    The latest recalls were issued by distributors Lawrence Wholesale, Southwind Foods, and AquaStar for a wide range of frozen and ready-to-eat shrimp products from various brands, including bagged raw and cooked shrimp, shrimp skewers, and cocktail shrimp.

    The recalled shrimp was shipped to grocery stores and businesses in over 40 states in total.

    Lawrence Wholesale Shrimp Recall

    The Lawrence Wholesale recall includes the following products sold at Kroger:
    • Kroger Cooked Jumbo Tail-On Peeled & Deveined 16/25 Shrimp: lot numbers 11925-H3A1 and 12025-H3A1, and "best by" dates of Apr. 28 or 29, 2027.

    Kroger Cooked Medium Tail-On Peeled & Deveined 51/60 Shrimp: lot numbers 12225-H3A1 and 12325-H3A1, and "best by" dates of May 1 or 2, 2027.

    Kroger Cooked Shrimp Bowl with Cocktail Sauce: 7 ounces; lot numbers 11325-H3A1, 11425-H3A1, 11525-H3A1, and 11625-H3A1; and “best by” dates between Apr. 22 and 25, 2027.

    Kroger Shrimp Cocktail with Cocktail Sauce: 7 ounces, lot numbers 13725-H3A1 and 13825-H3A1, and "best by" dates of May 16 or 17, 2027.

    These products were sold at stores in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

    Southwind Foods Shrimp Recall

    The recall issued by Southwind Foods includes the following brands and sizes of shrimp products:
    Arctic Shores frozen cooked shrimp (sizes: 16/20, 31/40, 41/50, 61/70, 91/120, 150/200): 6-ounce, 12-ounce, 1-pound, and 2-pound bags.

    Arctic Shores frozen raw shrimp (sizes: 16/20, 26/30, 31/40, 41/50): 1-pound and 2-pound bags.

    Best Yet frozen cooked shrimp (sizes: 16/20, 21/25, 26/30, 31/40, 41/50, 51/60, 71/90): 1-pound bags.

    First Street frozen raw shrimp (size: 16/20): 2-pound bags.

    Great American frozen cooked shrimp (sizes: 16/20, 21/25, 26/30, 31/40, 41/50, 41/60, 51/60, 50/70, 51/60, 91/120): 1-pound, 1.5-pound, and 2-pound bags.

    Great American frozen cooked shrimp meat: 1-pound bags.

    Great American frozen raw shrimp (sizes: 16/20, 21/25, 26/30, 31/40, 71/90): 1-pound and 2-pound bags.

    Great American frozen raw shrimp skewers (size: 16/20): 1-pound and 2-pound bags.

    Kroger frozen raw shrimp (size: 13/15): 2-pound bags.

    Master Catch frozen cooked shrimp (size: 41/50): 2-pound bags.

    Sand Bar frozen raw shrimp (sizes: 21/25, 31/40): 2-pound bags.

    Tovala frozen raw shrimp (size: 41/50): 5-ounce bags.

    WinCo frozen raw shrimp (size: 16/20): 5-pound bags.

    The Southwind Foods products were sent to retailers, distributors, and wholesalers in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

    AquaStar Shrimp Recall

    Seafood distributor AquaStar also recalled its raw peeled tail-on shrimp skewers, which come in 1.25-pound bags. The lot numbers are 10662 5127 10 and 10662 5128 11, with "best by" dates of Nov. 7 or 8, 2027. These were sold in Food Lion stores in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

    If you have any of these recalled products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
