models like the Natural Insect Repellent are rated on multiple criteria, such as those
listed below.
Protection against mosquitoes and ticks:
A high score means the product is more effective at protecting against mosquitoes. Based on our past testing and advice from independent experts, products effective against mosquitoes should also be effective against other arthropods, including ticks.
Resists damage to materials:
A high score means the repellent is less likely to damage common materials we test, like cotton, polyester, and leather.
Cost per oz.:
The approximate retail price divided by product contents in ounces.
