    When I clean the flat surfaces in my home, I like to move things to clean under them. During this cleaning process, I’ve dropped many picture frames, ceramic dishes for my trinkets, and other small items. I can’t help it—I’m a little clumsy. My solution is to pick up a bottle or tube of glue to fix it, instead of going out to buy it new.

    Usually, I’d buy the first brand I see, but after testing some popular glues in our lab, I know better.

    To test 11 multipurpose glues, we glued 88 blocks of wood together. We tested the strength with a force gauge after curing for 24 hours, submerging the glued blocks in water, and exposing them to cold and hot temperatures. We spent a week testing and retesting each product. See our full methodology at the end of this article.
