NapQueen Sleep Victoria Hybrid Mattresses Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The mattresses fail to conform to federal flammability regulations

Recalled Nap Queen Sleep Victoria Hybrid Mattresses Source: CPSC

Adven Group has recalled NapQueen Sleep Victoria Hybrid Mattresses because they violate mandatory federal flammability regulations for mattresses, posing a fire hazard for consumers.

The regulation requires all mattresses sold in the U.S. to be tested for their ability to resist smoldering, lighting, or catching fire when a series of lit cigarettes are placed on them during safety testing. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

The recall, announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, applies to roughly 117,200 mattresses manufactured before October 2023 and sold from February 2020 through October 2023 for between $160 and $375.

Consumer Reports has tested NapQueen mattresses, but not the NapQueen Sleep Victoria Hybrid Mattress being recalled.

Details of the NapQueen Sleep Victoria Hybrid Mattress Recall

The recall: It involves all sizes and thicknesses of the NapQueen Sleep Victoria Cooling Gel and Pocket Coil Hybrid Mattresses manufactured prior to October 2023 (models NQ691011, NQ691015, NQ691021, NQ691031, NQ691041, NQ691211, NQ691215, NQ691221, NQ691231, NQ691241, NQ69811, NQ69815, NQ69821, NQ69831, and NQ69841). The single-sided mattresses have a white knit top panel quilted in wavy diamonds and a black woven quilted side panel. They were sold compressed in a box. The mattresses’ top and bottom edges are black with yellow stitching. “NapQueen Sleep,” “Victoria Hybrid,” the model number, and the manufacture date appear on a white label sewn onto the mattress cover.

The risk: The mattresses violate the smoldering ignition requirements of the federal mattress flammability regulation, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents/injuries: No reports of injuries or incidents have been received.

Where and when sold: Stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Target, Walmart, and Wayfair, as well as napqueensleep.com, from February 2020 through October 2023 for between $160 and $375.

The remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled mattresses immediately and contact NapQueen to receive a free fitted cover to put on their mattresses to bring them into compliance with the federal standard.

Contact information: AdvenGroup is contacting all known purchasers directly. You can also reach out to NapQueen Sleep at 866-387-6239 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email at recall@napqueens.com, or on the NapQueen recall page.
