Sleep Technologies Eco Terra Hybrid Latex Mattresses Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The mattresses fail to conform to federal flammability regulations
Sleep Technologies has recalled certain Eco Terra Hybrid Latex Mattresses because they violate the smoldering-ignition requirements of the federal mattress flammability regulation, posing a fire hazard.
The regulation requires all mattresses sold in the U.S. to be tested for their ability to resist smoldering, lighting, or catching fire when a series of lit cigarettes are placed on the mattress during the course of safety testing.
The recall, announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, applies to about 84 mattresses in total, all of which were made Aug. 5 to 18, 2022.
Consumer Reports has tested the Eco Terra Hybrid Latex Medium Mattress, but the sample we assessed was manufactured outside of the date range included in the recall.
