GrillBlazer Recalls Around 10,000 Propane Torch Guns
Gas can leak from a hose, posing a fire hazard
GrillBlazer has recalled about 10,000 propane torch guns because propane gas can leak from the guns, posing a fire hazard. GrillBlazer has received 260 reports of the gun leaking gas, including three incidents of fire, but no reports of injuries, according to the release from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall applies to Su-VGun and GrillGun models. Both of these tools are grill guns, designed to sear meat, light charcoal or fires, and/or perform other outdoor functions. Consumer Reports has not tested either product.
Details of the Propane Torch Gun Recall
The recall: About 10,000 GrillBlazer propane gas grill guns. The recall involves two models: the Su-VGun and GrillGun. In each case, the recall applies to all model and serial numbers, as well as all date codes, within each line. The model line name is printed in yellow writing along the barrel of the gun.
The risk: The gun can leak propane gas, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/injuries: GrillBlazer has received 260 reports of gas leaking, including three reports of fire, but no reports of injuries.
Where and when sold: Online at GrillBlazer.com, Kickstarter.com, and Indiegogo.com from December 2019 through July 2020 for about $150.
The remedy: Stop using the recalled propane torch gun immediately and contact GrillBlazer for instructions and, if necessary, a free repair.
