YONKERS, NY – Consumer Reports (CR), the nonprofit research, testing, and advocacy organization, has been recognized on Fast Company’s list of World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025. CR has been named no. 2 in the Not-for-Profit category for its transformative role in advancing the electric vehicle (EV) industry and empowering consumers with knowledge and tools to adopt more efficient transportation choices.
Over the past 18 months, CR has launched initiatives to collaborate with consumers and the EV industry to improve the electrified vehicle experience, as transportation is the United States’ leading source of greenhouse gases and a major source of air pollution:
Through these efforts, CR has brought together customers, businesses and nonprofit organizations in a unique way to drive meaningful impact across the EV landscape, influencing industry practices and empowering consumers to make informed choices.
“We are honored to be recognized by Fast Company for our work to make electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles an option for all consumers,” said Drew Toher, Campaign Manager at Consumer Reports. “Members of CR’s EV Charging Community are crowdsourcing data and sharing key insights to hold charging networks accountable and push for more reliable, accessible public charging to help drivers. We’re excited to continue growing this community and its collective impact to shape a fairer, more consumer-friendly marketplace for electrified vehicles.”
“Our list of the Most Innovative Companies offers both a comprehensive look at innovation today and a playbook for the future,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “This year, we recognize companies that are harnessing AI in deep and meaningful ways, brands that are turning customers into superfans by overdelivering for them, and challengers that are introducing bold ideas and vital competition to their industries. At a time when the world is rapidly shifting, these companies are charting the way forward.”
To determine honorees, Fast Company’s editors and writers evaluate thousands of submissions in a competitive application process to create a globe-spanning guide to innovation today. Learn more about CR’s recognition.
