YONKERS, NY – Consumer Reports (CR), the nonprofit research, testing, and advocacy organization, today announced its first-ever Top Picks for Baby, highlighting the year’s highest-performing baby products across categories including car seats, strollers, and bassinets. These products earned top spots in CR’s independent testing for the qualities that matter most to parents: performance, comfort, and safety.
To identify its Top Picks, CR’s team of testers, scientists, researchers, and journalists put more than 1,000 baby products through in-depth comparative testing. Every product in CR’s ratings receives an Overall Score, which combines key performance indicators based on what matters most in real-world use. For example:
“As parents ourselves, we know what’s at stake when families shop for baby gear,” said Siobhan Adcock, Director of Baby Content at Consumer Reports. “Our Top Picks reflect the best of the best from our rigorous testing, offering peace of mind to parents who want products they know they can trust.”
To earn a CR Top Pick for Baby designation, a product must be among the highest-rated in its category.
CR’s Top Picks are a trusted guide for families navigating a crowded marketplace and signal to brands and retailers that these models have met an exceptionally high bar in independent testing.
Founded in 1936, CR has a mission to create a fair and just marketplace for all. Widely known for our rigorous research and testing of products and services, we also survey millions of consumers each year, report extensively on marketplace issues, and advocate for consumer rights and protections around safety as well as digital rights, financial fairness, and sustainability. CR is independent and nonprofit.
