Yonkers, NY – Consumer Reports (CR), the consumer research, testing, and advocacy organization, announced today Willem van Rijn as Chief Operating Officer. Willem will oversee the strategies to expand and enhance CR’s day-to-day operations, as well as the people, processes, and infrastructure crucial to the organization’s mission to create a fair, just marketplace for everyone.

“Willem has a track record of operational leadership,” said Phil Radford, President and Chief Executive Officer of Consumer Reports. “I had the pleasure of working in partnership with Willem several years ago. I saw firsthand his ability to build businesses, act with integrity and discipline, and inspire others. His leadership will position CR to drive income and impact going forward.”

“Consumer Reports’ mission is more important than ever. I look forward to strengthening the systems and strategies that power CR’s work,” said van Rijn. “By enhancing CR’s operations and building on its strong foundation, we can ensure consumers are better informed and protected for years to come.”

Willem has served in various leadership roles, including COO, CFO, and CEO, at public and private institutions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. More recently, he was a founding partner at NextGen Strategic Partners, a capital markets consulting company. He also led the audit and finance committee at the Ecologic Institute, a leading global think tank for environmental, social and policy issues.
