Beauty Gifts
Caudalie Beauty Elixir
Few things in life feel as great and refreshing as a spritz of Caudalie’s iconic Beauty Elixir. This versatile mist, made from grape extract and a variety of essential oils such as rose, peppermint, and rosemary, can be used as a setting spray for makeup or a little pick-me-up whenever you need it.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm
Our evaluators unanimously agreed that this Summer Fridays lip butter balm went on smoothly, and many loved its hydrating and moisturizing nature. Its mild vanilla scent was another standout feature of this TikTok-famous balm, which is available in several flavors.
Frigidaire 9 Can Mini Beauty Lighted Mirror Fridge
Give Mom the gift of chilled skincare. Our evaluators were thoroughly impressed by this skincare fridge. It held the most products of all the fridges we tried out, was nearly on target with its temperature reading, and boasts an LED light mirror on the front door. It features an adjustable shelf that can be positioned to two heights: 5 or 7 inches from the base of the fridge, which is great if you have taller items that you want to fit. A switch on the back of the fridge can be set to cool, off, and warm.
Béis The Dopp Kit
The Béis Dopp Kit is made of cotton and vegan leather and comes in a variety of colors. It is a bag that you would enjoy holding because of how comfortable the material feels. It can be opened wide enough that every item in the bag is in full view, which makes it easy to access. The bag is divided into a top and bottom compartment, and there are two side pockets in the top compartment. Take this gift to the next level by pairing it with your giftee’s favorite beauty essentials.
Lunya Washable Sleep Mask
Little says luxury quite like a silk sleep mask and one that can double as an eye pillow is even better. In an evaluation of the best sleep masks, our reviewers found this option from Lunya to be comfortable and warm to wear. It has a wide, scrunchy backstrap, fits over the ears, and can even muffle some sounds. Combine this gift with an array of calming essential oils to give Mom the ultimate at-home spa experience.
Nature-Inspired Gifts
Ichendorf Milano Fantasia Cactus Tumblers
Who doesn’t love everyday staples reimagined in unexpected ways? These cheeky tumblers from Ichendorf Milano are handmade from borosilicate glass and available in an array of motifs, which makes them prime for customization. Pair this with Mom’s spirit of choice and a fun garnish to boot—think dried orange slices or sprigs of fresh rosemary and mint.
Sereniseed Certified Organic Herb Seeds (10-Pack)
With summer around the corner, it’s prime time to start a little garden, indoors or out. This 10-pack includes heirloom seeds for herbs such as cilantro, basil, dill, chives, lavender, and more. Create a mini garden package by pairing this with a set of terra-cotta planters and herb makers. Cue plenty of deliciously seasoned meals to come.
LEGO Wildflower Bouquet
Skip the store-bought flowers and go for something non-traditional. This build-it-yourself wildflower bouquet fits the bill. Lego’s botanical collection is something out of a dream. Potted orchids, cherry blossoms, and roses are just a few of the creative options you’ll find, but we’re partial to this wildflower set, which is equal parts whimsical and artful. Once it’s complete, go ahead and display it in a vase. Why not?
Niwaki Sentei Garden Scissors
For the mom who enjoys life’s simple pleasures and is an anthophile to boot, a beautiful set of garden scissors will be much appreciated. They may come in myriad shapes and sizes but I’m partial to this carbon steel version I’ve owned for years. It can make cuts that are sharp and precise—an important element that helps promote healthy plant growth. The cherry on top? It’s highly versatile. I use them to clip back the rapidly growing vines on my pothos or when I need to give cut-flower stems a refresh to help them last longer.
Easy Plant Marxii Calathea
Take good care of a Marxii Calathea (also known as a prayer plant) and it will repay you in abundance. Of course, one that comes with a self-watering pot is a surefire way to ensure its longevity and success. "Water once a month" is Easy Plant’s promise—simply fill the reservoir in the pot and the plant will soak up the water when needed.
I received one as a gift last year and can attest to the system’s success. I fill the reservoir with water roughly every two weeks—my plant sits in a greenhouse-esque environment and receives direct sunlight, which means it requires more frequent watering. It has nearly tripled in size in the last year and is absolutely thriving.
Foodie Gifts
Piecework Rise & Shine 1,000-Piece Puzzle
Consider this cheeky twist on Mother’s Day brunch. This jigsaw puzzle from Piecework depicting a vibrant breakfast scene is almost as good as the real thing. As a bonus, it can live past the afternoon, and the fact that it will require little to no cleanup is a win for all. Pair this with a piping-hot cup of coffee and a box of cookies.
Wonder Valley Olive Oil
When it comes to cooking essentials, good olive oil almost always comes out on top. This olive oil from Wonder Valley was a standout in our evaluation. It boasts a fruity flavor balanced with pepperiness and bitterness. Its strong taste would make it good for drizzling on foods and adding to salad dressings.
Simple Modern Insulated Tumbler with Lid and Straw
For the coffee-lover who is always on the go, a colorful tumbler is a must. Claire Chan—founder of The Elk, a specialty coffee shop and general store in New York City—prefers drinking cold brew with a straw and over a lot of ice. So whenever she whips up a batch at home, the coffee pro makes sure to put it in an insulated tumbler like this colorful option. “The insulation keeps it cold for much longer, and the straw is built in,” Chan says. Combine this with a bottle of Mom’s favorite cold brew or a fresh bag of beans from her go-to coffee shop.
NotNeutral Lino Lino Mug, 10 oz
Give Mom the gift of a better vessel for her morning brew. Jiyoon Han, the founder of Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters, recommends this mug from NotNeutral. “Made from high-quality porcelain, it has a wide mouth to enhance aroma, a comfortable handle for a secure grip, and a modern design,” Han says. Choose from a range of vibrant and pastel hues or mix and match to your heart’s content.
Dash Hot Air Popcorn Popper
Upgrade movie night with freshly popped popcorn. This model was a standout in our evaluation of the best popcorn machines because it delivered a lighter, toastier flavor with a pleasant snap in each piece. It takes roughly 2 minutes to pop a whole bowl and has a capacity of 16 cups. Take things to the next level with a delectable finishing salt or Mom’s movie theater candy of choice.
Tech and Fitness Gifts
Sometimes, the key to R&R is tuning out the rest of the world, and noise-canceling headphones are a great way to do that. Shopping for noise-canceling headphones on a budget doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice performance. Case in point is the Anker Soundcore Life Q20—our tests show it beats models that cost hundreds more.
These headphones have great sound quality and outstanding noise cancellation. They don’t sound quite as good as top-rated models, and you won’t get sought-after features like adjustable noise cancellation levels. But at this price, those may be sacrifices worth making.
The Amazfit Band 7 comes with a slew of features that Mom will appreciate. The easy-to-use fitness tracker has a 1.3-inch color touchscreen display, a real-time heart rate monitor, and a sleep-tracking capability. Use it to count steps or calories burned after a workout and feel free to take it for a swim—our labs found that this model passed the water immersion test of 164 feet for 10 minutes. (Psst! Use the Amazon on-page discount for an additional $6 off.)
BalanceFrom All-Purpose 1/2-Inch High-Density Foam Yoga Mat
Give Mom’s fitness routine a cushy lift care of this foam exercise mat. In our evaluations, we found that this model is very quick to dry and has a high level of cushioning. It offers a fair amount of bottom grip and a good amount of grip against hands and feet while dry.
She's Birdie Personal Safety Alarm
Give the runner piece of mind with this personal safety alarm. Easy to use and available in 10 colors, this chirping alarm was our favorite travel product for safety. To activate the alarm, remove the top of the device from the main body to trigger a piercing chirping sound and a flashing light. To stop the sound and light, replace the top of the alarm back on the body. There are no buttons on the Birdie, and the two replaceable CR2032 batteries last “approximately 40 continual minutes,” according to the brand’s FAQ page.
