Amazon Prime Day is bringing savings on bedroom essentials like pillows, sheets, and mattress toppers

Designing the perfect sleep environment is always easier when you’re shopping at a discount. For Amazon Prime Days (ehh week), Amazon has cut prices on plenty of items, including a decent selection of sleep essentials, like mattresses, pillows, and sheets.

But it’s not just the basics that are marked down. We also found deals on nice-to-haves, like a sunrise alarm clock to ensure you wake on time, and air purifiers to help create a sleep space with fewer allergens. We also have you covered if you’re looking to make your bed cozier, say with a dreamy duvet or plush mattress topper.

Consumer Reports has tested all of the products in this roundup and keeps tabs on their prices so that we can help you find the best options and the best prices. Bear in mind that not all the deals for Amazon Prime Day are good—we’ve seen plenty of prices that are the same, or even higher, than at other times of the year. We’ve also seen steep discounts on products that just don’t perform. Here, we’ve culled the list to highlight real deals on the sleep essentials that are actually worth buying. We’re also including sales at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.

If you’re a CR member, you can also take advantage of some exclusive mattress and bedding deals on brands like Avocado, Casper, and Tuft & Needle. You’ll need to be logged in to see the details.

Mattresses

Casper Sleep Element Mattress

Casper Sleep Element Mattress

The Casper Sleep Element is an all-foam mattress with multiple layers for cushioning and support. In our testing, it was particularly well-suited to back sleepers across a range of body types, while also providing support for many side sleepers. The mattress ships compressed in a box and is one of Casper’s more budget-friendly options.

Casper Original Foam Mattress

Casper Original Foam Mattress

Casper has revamped their offerings, but the popular mattress-in-a-box brand still has lingering inventory at Amazon on their former flagship Casper Original foam mattress. It’s a great option for back sleepers, and a solid pick for side sleepers. If you sleep with a partner, our stability tests show that you won’t feel much movement when they toss or turn. The Casper is slightly firmer than average, earning a 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.

Casper Original Hybrid

Casper Original Hybrid

The Casper Original Hybrid Mattress combines foam layers with individually wrapped coils, a design intended to provide both contouring and responsiveness. In our testing, it supported a wide range of side sleepers, while the coil layer helped limit motion transfer between sleep partners. The mattress also performed well in durability testing, making it a noteworthy Prime Day option for shoppers considering a long-term mattress upgrade.

Pillows

The Beckham Luxury Linens Hotel Collection Pillow has a 100-percent cotton cover and a 100-percent polyester gel-fiber filling. The pillow aced our test for breathability, so it should help keep you from feeling hot; it also scored top marks for resiliency, so it should maintain its shape over time. These pillows are a personal favorite of yours truly, as well.

The Tuft & Needle Original Foam Pillow is made of polyurethane foam and comes with a micro-polyamide and polyester cover. Despite this composition, testers found that the pillow excels in breathability. It is a great choice for side sleepers, but less ideal for back sleepers, according to our lab tests. Expect its firmness, height, and support to remain consistent with use.

The Fern & Willow Down Alternative Pillows are filled with a plush down-alternative material and sold as a set of two. In our testing, they provided support for both side and back sleepers while maintaining their shape over time. The pillows feature a cooling gel fiber fill and a breathable cotton cover.

This Coop pillow uses gel-infused memory foam and microfiber, making it a good choice for those who love the "cool side" of the pillow. It gets a perfect score for breathability, so if you sleep hot, it could be exactly what you need for all-night comfort. It also offers side and back support.

The Coop Sleep Goods Original Adjustable Pillow is filled with shredded memory foam and comes with extra fill, allowing sleepers to customize the pillow’s loft and feel. In our testing, it provided support across a range of body types and sleep positions, while maintaining its shape over time. The pillow is also designed to promote airflow, making it a noteworthy Prime Day option for shoppers looking for a more customizable alternative to traditional foam pillows.

Side and back sleepers will find the GhostBed pillow quite dreamy. It’s made of shredded memory foam pieces with a polyester fiber cover and can be customized to your level of support by removing some of the shredded foam pieces and polyester gel fibers. Our tests found that sleepers of all sizes and positions can get some degree of improved support by removing various amounts of filling. This adjustable pillow, which comes in a pack of two, earns just middling marks in our resilience test but aces our breathability test.

Casper’s mattresses number among the top options that have been tested in our labs, and that’s not all the brand is good at. The Foam Snow pillow received high marks in our test for side support, resiliency, and breathability. It only got middling scores for back sleepers, however, so if that’s you, look elsewhere.

The Weekender Gel Memory Foam pillow marries the cooling properties of a gel pad with polyurethane foam. It offers only average support for back sleepers, but it’s very good at supporting those who sleep on their side. Our testers find the resiliency and breathability of the pillow to be top-notch, as is its breathability.

Sheets

Cool, breathable, and incredibly soft, the Buffy Breeze Sheet Set is a standout among synthetic fiber options. It earns top marks for fit and softness and holds up well in tests for shrinkage, strength, and wrinkling. Designed for mattresses up to 14 inches deep, these eucalyptus-based sheets stay smooth, stay put, and even include directional tags to make bed-making a breeze (no pun intended).

According to our sensory test, the Lands’ End Premium Supima Cotton Sheet Set is one of the softest in our ratings. You can use the code POOLPARTY to get 50 percent off. Though you will experience some wrinkling, it still performs better than most natural cotton sheets in our wrinkling assessment. With an excellent fit for mattresses 14 inches thick and under, little to no shrinkage, and a very strong weave, it is a solid pick.

Brushed microfiber isn’t as breathable as cotton, but if synthetic fibers aren’t a hang-up, this Mellanni sheet set is a top-notch pick. It offers a softer feel than most cotton options and is pretty resistant to wrinkling. The one area where these bedsheets slightly miss the mark is in our fit test. Though the packaging claims “deep pockets,” this set is best suited for mattresses with a depth of 10 inches or less.

Duvets

Brooklinen Down Comforter

Brooklinen Down Comforter

Brooklinen’s down comforter is 20 percent off for their Fourth of July sale. Typically, you’ll find a 15 percent discount for new buyers, so while this isn’t as good as their annual sale, you’ll still reap significant savings. It stands out for its high-quality construction, ultra-soft feel, and excellent temperature regulation. Available in both down and down-alternative options, it comes in lightweight, all-season, or ultra-warm varieties. The all-season down version with grid design is cozy and breathable, with no noticeable clumping or feather leakage. It features a sateen shell that adds a touch of luxury and corner ties to keep it in place. Though pricey, it’s a worthwhile investment for those seeking top-tier comfort. Brooklinen also offers a 365-day return policy (minus a $9.95 fee), so you can get almost all your money back if it’s not a perfect fit.

Buffy Cloud Comforter

Buffy Cloud Comforter

Buffy’s Cloud Comforter is the softest choice in our at-home assessment. This is the usual sale price, though we did see it for $10 less recently. Thanks to its smooth, silky feel and fluffiness, the duvet is comfortable enough to use without a duvet cover. Made of recycled materials, it’s uniformly stuffed in layers to prevent clumping and shedding. The shell material is 100 percent sateen-weave Tencel lyocell.

Utopia Bedding Comforter Duvet Insert

Utopia Bedding Comforter Duvet Insert

At well under $50, the Utopia Bedding Comforter offers impressive value, with sturdy construction that rivals pricier options. Its siliconized polyester fill isn’t as breathable as the natural cotton shells found on higher-end comforters, but it’s soft, airy, lightweight, and allows for easy movement.

Mattress Toppers

Lab tests find that this topper from Casper doesn’t allow users to sink in as deeply as others. This topper feels like an actual mattress, adding a touch of medium softness where needed without allowing the body to sink in too much. The two-layer cushion combines a layer of softer foam over a firmer base layer of foam. At a little under 16 pounds, it’s easy to move around, and its machine-washable zip-off cover made of polyester, cotton, rayon, and spandex makes it easy to clean. However, this topper can not be flipped. Casper’s toppers are backed by a 5-year limited mattress topper warranty. Just note that this is a final sale item and cannot be returned or exchanged. For an additional 20 percent off the sale price, use code EXTRA20.

Featuring the brand’s signature slow-sink technology, the Tempur-Pedic Supreme mattress topper provides solid support and convenience. Lab testing indicates that the topper prevents excessive heat from being trapped because it is not overly enveloping. It includes a removable polyester cover, and the unit can be flipped once the cover is removed and replaced. While Tempur-Pedic does not provide a trial period for this product, it is protected by a 10-year warranty.

The Lucid 3" Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress Topper is made with ventilated memory foam infused with cooling gel. Designed to add an extra layer of cushioning to an existing mattress, it features a plush feel and a breathable construction intended to help improve airflow. For Prime Day shoppers looking for a relatively low-cost mattress upgrade, it’s one of the less expensive options on this list.

The Dormeo 3" Premium Mattress Topper combines the brand’s Octaspring technology, which is designed to promote airflow, with its proprietary Recovery Foam. It also features a machine-washable zip-off cover and four corner straps to help keep it securely in place on the mattress. For shoppers looking to update an existing bed rather than replace it, the topper comes with a 100-night trial period.

Cooling Blankets

Guohaoi Cooling Blanket

Guohaoi Cooling Blanket

The Guohaoi Cooling Blanket was the second most cooling blanket we tested. When wearing it for an hour, the evaluator reported it felt very cool and didn’t retain heat. The front of this blanket is constructed with nylon and polyester and feels like smooth, cool swimsuit material. The back is made from Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified cotton. The stitching isn’t the neatest and feels a little inexpensive, and the two layers aren’t attached, but you can often expect some shortcomings for lower-priced items, and the important thing is that this blanket has a cooling effect as advertised.

Sleep Number True Temp Blanket

Sleep Number True Temp Blanket

This cooling blanket from Sleep Number is actually not one of the chilliest options among the cooling blankets we tried, though it will keep you cooler than a traditional blanket. But it has a lot of other great qualities that may make it worth a look. It’s well-constructed and incredibly soft and cool to the touch. Plus, the material is very thin, making it easy to fold and easier to store.

Heated Blankets

Bedsure Electric Heated Flannel Blanket

Bedsure Electric Heated Flannel Blanket

The Bedsure Electric Heated Flannel Blanket is thin but light. Though it’s cozy, it resembles an inexpensive fleece blanket you’d find at a grocery store. One side is striped flannel and the other is linty fleece. The flannel is not the best quality, but it does get hot. And it has the lightest wires of the blankets we evaluated. This is the price for a throw-sized blanket. Other sizes vary in price.

Sleep Masks

MZOO Sleep Mask

MZOO Sleep Mask

The MZOO Sleep Mask features a contoured design that blocks light while reducing pressure around the eyes. Additional features include an adjustable strap and molded eye cups that help prevent the fabric from resting directly on the eyelids. It’s a budget-friendly option for travelers and anyone looking to limit light exposure while sleeping.

Sound Machines

Magicteam Sound Machines White Noise Machine

Magicteam Sound Machines White Noise Machine

Compact and travel-friendly, the Magicteam Sound Machine packs 20 sounds—including white, brown, and pink noise, fan sounds, and nature tracks—into a device small enough to fit in a bag. Testers found it effective at masking external noise, improving sleep, and helping them stay focused while working from home. Simple controls and a built-in timer make it easy to use, though the small buttons can be hard to see in low light.

Yogasleep Dohm Uno Sound Machine

Yogasleep Dohm Uno Sound Machine

The Dohm Uno keeps things simple with a real fan that produces a single, soothing white noise sound. Testers praised its gentle hum for masking distractions and promoting sleep, though some found it almost too relaxing for work. Just note that the fan can cause vibrations on hard surfaces; this is easily fixed by placing it on a book or other soft surface.

Sunrise Alarm Clocks

Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light

Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light

With the Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light HF3520/60, you can wake up to one of five nature sounds or an FM radio. The SmartSleep is pretty easy to set up and use, receiving high marks in both categories. Those needing help winding down at bedtime will also find the Philips wake-up light worth it for its simulated sunset feature. (But for wind-down sounds and programs, you’ll need to upgrade to the HF3650 or HF3670.)

JALL Sunrise Alarm Clock

The JALL Wake Up Light Sunrise Alarm Clock has two independent alarms (so you can set them for different times depending on your routine), seven alarm tones (including “wind bells” and birds chirping), an FM radio, and a fall-asleep mode that simulates a sunset (though no white-noise option). It was relatively easy to set up and use. According to the manufacturer, it emits a maximum light intensity of 240 lux.

Air Purifiers

If you’re looking for an air purifier for a small room, the Blueair Mini Restful might fit the bill. It’s now $120 off. The Mini Restful performed very well in our tests. Running at high speeds, it did an exceptional job of removing dust, pollen, and smoke, and performed nearly as well at low speeds. It gets a middling score for noise output at high speed, which is common across every model, but it’s actually pretty quiet at low speed, making it a great option for all-day use in, say, a home office.

The HoMedics AP-T200 has impressive performance and an attractive design, similar to the AP-C500. It performs impressively on both high and low speeds and is easy to use. Just expect a fair amount of noise while it’s running. The major difference—this model is designed for medium rooms of 150-350 square feet so it’s smaller in size and has a smaller price tag. Macy’s no longer lists this as a sale, but these are the only two retailers where this air purifier is available, and it originally sold for $300.

Room Fans

Vornado Flippi V6 Personal Air Circulator

Vornado Flippi V6 Personal Air Circulator

If you’re looking for a small fan to keep things cool on a bedside table and provide a little white noise, this little Vornado model could fit the bill. It’s quiet and fairly versatile, with a 180-degree tilt and two speed settings.

This price has been available for a long time, so it’s probably not going anywhere. But it’s a bargain for a quality desk fan.

Dreo Air Circulator PolyFan 311

Dreo Air Circulator PolyFan 311

The Dreo Air Circulator PolyFan 311 is a sleek-looking fan that has the most features of all the room fans we evaluated, and its unique design makes it even more of a standout. It had the largest speed range, covering the lowest and highest speeds of the group. It also had the largest number of settings—eight in total—including four oscillating modes, among others. Its wind speed ranges from 2.1 to 6.4 meters per second, so you can feel good about its ability to cool down a larger space. Even better: It achieved this while placing second on our list of best energy-conserving fans.

Adjustable Bed Frames

The Nectar Premier adjustable bed frame includes a range of preset positions, including TV, reading, Anti-Snore, and Zero Gravity modes, along with two customizable settings. It also offers smartphone app controls, four built-in USB ports, and an upper-body massage function. Available in twin XL, full, queen, and king sizes, it’s a feature-rich option for shoppers looking to upgrade their sleep setup.

The Sven & Son Classic Adjustable Base offers three preset positions, two customizable memory settings, and massage functions for both the upper and lower body. It also includes adjustable-height legs, under-bed lighting, USB ports, and smartphone app controls. The frame is available in split-king, split California king, and standard sizes. The Twin XL, Queen, King, and Split California King are still on sale. While the Prime Day discount for the traditional split king has been retired, those interested in this setup can purchase two Twin XL bases for a total of $1,047.90—more than $400 off the set retail price.
