If you’re looking to buy a stick vacuum or replace your hand vac, now might be the best time. We’re currently on the last day of Amazon’s four-day Prime Day event. With tariffs increasing uncertainty around prices, it’s a good opportunity to buy a vacuum before it gets more expensive down the road. Amazon also isn’t the only retailer promising great deals; Walmart and Target are both holding competing sales that will last until the end of this week.

Significant discounts are available for vacuums and other floor cleaners, including steam mops and carpet cleaners. Whether you want a hands-off robotic vacuum, a lightweight stick vac, or a heavy-duty upright or canister vacuum, we’ve found tons of great options at a lower price. We’ve also spotted a few deals on top-performing carpet cleaners, steam mops, and combo vacuum-mops.

We consider various factors when highlighting vacuum sales. These include a model’s performance in CR’s tests, its predicted reliability based on data from our member surveys, and the size of the discount compared with the original list price and the current “street price” (i.e., the typical cost of the product). We’re following all of the best Prime Day deals on top-rated vacuums from our tests, and we’ll keep this page updated as more discounts become available.

    Cordless Stick Vacuums

We like the Shark Vertex Pro IZ662H’s many features. The wand can be bent to reach underneath furniture better, and the vacuum itself folds to allow for more compact storage. While it’s only decent at cleaning carpets, the vacuum shines in cleaning up pet hair and bare, uncarpeted floors. The price for this vacuum fluctuates, but this is the lowest we’ve seen in months.

CR's expert guidance and unbiased reviews can help you purchase with confidence.

Yes, the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra VS90F40DMK/AA is on the expensive side, but it checks all the boxes we want for a cordless stick vac. Its average runtime is longer than most of the other cordless stick vacs we tested, which means the vacuum’s less likely to die on you in the middle of cleaning. It scores well for cleaning carpets, a rarity for a stick vac. And the vacuum comes with a cleaning station that automatically empties its contents into the station’s bin, a plus for convenience. The Prime Day price is the lowest it’s ever sold for.

The LG CordZero All-in-One A949KTMS is a cleaning powerhouse that scored excellent ratings in our bare floors, edges, and pet hair tests. It also edges out its competitors in cleaning carpets. The vacuum comes with many conveniences, including an automatic empty feature that cleans the bin after each use.

The Miele Duoflex HX1 scores well in nearly all of our cleaning tests. It’s excellent at cleaning debris from bare floors as well as picking up pet hair. It’s only so-so at vacuuming dirt from carpets, but that’s not uncommon for stick vacs, which aren’t as powerful as uprights. What stands out the most about this model is how easy it is to use; we like how simple it is to remove the vacuum’s dustbin and clean its filter.

The Shark PowerDetect IP1251 comes with lots of bells and whistles, including a dirt detection feature and a floor detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed based on the surface it’s vacuuming. It’s very good at sucking up debris from carpets and is even more impressive at picking up pet hair. The vacuum can be converted into a hand vac and folded for storage.

We’ve seen the Shark Stratos IZ862H as low as $250 around Black Friday, but that big of a discount isn’t likely going to come around anytime soon, so now’s a good chance to buy this vacuum. It has Shark’s signature DuoClean brush roll and a flexible wand for reaching under furniture. It earns top scores for cleaning bare floors and removing debris along edges. But if you have carpet, it’s only so-so. A dirt sensor increases suction when the vacuum senses debris and decreases when the floor is clean. It also has a self-cleaning mechanism that prevents hair from getting tangled around the brush roll.

If you’re looking to buy a less expensive Samsung stick vac, the Samsung Jet 85 VS20C8522TW is a good alternative. It’s stellar at cleaning up bare floors, pet hair, and the edges of your home, though it’s not as outstanding at cleaning carpets. One of the features we enjoy about this model is its electric accessory brush, which adapts easily to the cleaning of vertical surfaces. The digital display on the vacuum shows how much run time is left on your vacuum when you’re using it. And the battery is user-replaceable, another plus.

    Corded Stick Vacuums

The Shark Rocket HV301 comes with a 30-foot cord and can be converted into a hand vacuum, adding to its convenience. You can hang the hand vacuum on the bottom of the wand for easier storage. We found this vacuum to be excellent at sucking up debris from bare floors and picking up pet hair. It also does a decent job of cleaning carpets.

The Shark Ultralight PetPro HZ702 is extremely light, at 8.1 pounds. It’s outstanding at picking up pet hair and impressive at cleaning edges and bare floors. It does a so-so job of vacuuming debris from carpet. One impressive feature is that the top of the vacuum can be detached and hooked to the bottom for easy storage. The vacuum comes with an odor neutralizer to guard against bad odors in the appliance.

    Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002

With the Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002, you’re getting a 2-in-1 tool: a stick vac that can also convert into a hand vac, which weighs a light 2.9 pounds. This vac earned top-tier scores in our bare floors and pet hair tests. It comes with a self-cleaning pet power brush that is designed to remove pet hair from upholstery, stairs, and more without the hair getting entangled inside.

    Combo Vacuum-Mops

In our tests, the Tineco Floor One S3 Smart Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner Mop picked up dry debris such as rice, cereal, and sand with aplomb. It’s also very good at cleaning wet spills and removing stains. Another plus: it boasts one of the longest run times among the models we tested, running an average of 36 minutes.

Currently the highest-rated combo vacuum-mop in our ratings, the Hoover ONEPWR Streamline Cordless Hard Floor Wet Dry Vacuum is superb at cleaning up wet and dry messes. It does a satisfying job of cleaning up dried stains, though its run time isn’t super long. The vacuum-mop has a self-cleaning feature and an indicator that shows how much battery life is left.

    Robotic Vacuums

Despite its priciness, the Dyson 360 vis nav stands out for its unique features and powerful cleaning performance. It’s on the heavy side but compensates with extremely strong suction, effectively picking up pet hair and embedded dirt. Instead of a conventional side brush, it uses an extending side duct to tackle edges and corners. It also has a large brush roll that spans the full size of the vacuum for effective cleaning, and though its dustbin is relatively small, it’s equipped with a convenient one-touch ejection system for easy emptying.

It doesn’t come with tons of extra features, but the Shark Matrix RV2310AE gets the job done when it comes to cleaning. It’s excellent at picking up pet hair and does an exemplary job at sucking up debris from bare floors. While its dustbin is relatively small, our testers say it’s very easy to empty the dustbin and to clean the filter.

If you dislike robovacs that are too noisy, the Eufy RoboVac 11S Max is the choice for you. It’s unobtrusively quiet, and it gets high scores for how well it can navigate through your home and avoid obstacles. While it’s only so-so at cleaning carpets, it’s impressive at picking up debris from bare floors. We like that its profile is slim, so that it can get underneath low furniture without getting stuck.

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO Vacuum Cleaner is very quiet and exemplary at cleaning up bare floors and pet hair. It comes with a self-emptying docking station, though one of the downsides is that you’ll have to buy replacement bags for the base.

    Handheld Vacuums

If you’re tired of lugging around a heavy hand vacuum while cleaning, you should consider the Shark Ion W1 WV201. At 1.4 pounds, it’s one of the lightest hand vacs we’ve tested. And despite its strong cleaning performance, it’s also fairly quiet. The one downside is that its bin is on the small side, which means you have to empty it frequently when you’re tackling a bigger mess.

The Shark Wandvac might be small and lightweight, but it’s impressive at picking up pet hair and reaching into tight, hard-to-clean spaces. It’s also one of the quieter hand vacs we’ve tested. We like its convenient charging setup, and the fact that you can store the vacuum’s accessories in the charging stand.

As long as you don’t mind that it’s on the noisier side, the Black+Decker DustBuster CHV1410L is a hand vac worth considering for its cleaning power. It’s good at removing debris from bare floors and carpet, despite not having a power brush attachment. This price is the lowest the model has sold for in the last few months.

What sets the Black+Decker Flex BDH2020FL apart is its unique design. Unlike most of its competitors, it has a built-in hose that can reach inside tight spaces that are hard to clean. It also comes with a rubber pet hair tool that does a great job of pulling out fur embedded in a carpet.

The biggest selling point of the Black+Decker DustBuster Pivot BDH2000PL is its nozzle, which can be adjusted to different angles, making it easier for you to clean the inside of your car and hard-to-reach places in your home. It excels at picking up messes from bare floors and is also very good at cleaning carpets and pet hair. Our testers like how easy it is to empty the vacuum, though they also say that this vacuum can clog when picking up larger debris like cereal.

The Black+Decker BDH2000L impressed us with its suction power and was especially adept at picking up debris from bare floors. The vacuum’s nozzle can twist a full 180 degrees, which allows you more flexibility when maneuvering it during cleaning. This vacuum has been discounted before, but this is a good deal.

    Upright Vacuums

If you’re a pet owner, the price on this Shark Vertex DuoClean AZ2002 is a real steal. It picks up pet hair especially well, has exceptional suction power, and does a solid job containing small dust particles. It also has a lift-away canister, which makes cleaning hard-to-reach places easier. The self-cleaning brush roll prevents pet hair (and any long hair) from wrapping around it and getting tangled in the vacuum.

The Shark Stratos AZ3002 is a good choice for any home that has a mixture of surfaces, especially if you have a pet (it got a top score in picking up fur). It does a solid job cleaning carpets and an excellent job on bare floors. The lift-away feature that allows it to be used like a canister is another bonus.

If you don’t have a lot of carpets at home, it’s worth considering the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away NV752, which is excellent at cleaning bare surfaces. It’s one of the quieter upright vacuums we tested, and it also scores well for picking up pet hair. The vacuum comes with LED headlights, which can spotlight any debris on the floor while you’re cleaning.

The Shark PowerDetect AZ4002 is currently the highest-rated bagless upright vacuum in our ratings, acing our pet-hair and bare-floor cleaning tests. It’s less noisy than many other models and comes packed with handy features, among them a dirt sensor that automatically boosts power to pull up more debris. It also detects floor types and can adjust the speed of its brush rolls accordingly. For those who hate having to extricate hair from a vacuum’s brush rolls, the PowerDetect’s rolls are designed with a self-cleaning feature to guard against entanglements.

Despite being fairly lightweight—it weighs only 14 pounds—this upright Shark vacuum is a strong performer at cleaning, acing our carpet, bare floors, and pet hair tests. The low-cost model also has a detachable pod that makes it easier to clean stairs and under furniture.

This isn’t the best deal we’ve ever seen, but the price does fluctuate pretty frequently, and this price is toward the lower end of the spectrum.

The bagless Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV352 is a great vacuum—if you don’t have pets. It’s relatively weak at suctioning up pet hair, but it’s stellar at picking up debris from bare floors and very good at cleaning carpets. It also does a solid job at capturing all the dust it picks up, which is a plus if you have allergies or other respiratory issues. Right now, it’s selling at a price that’s the lowest we’ve seen in months.

    Canister Vacuums

The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is on the pricey side, but it’s one of the best canisters you can buy. It’s a top-grade performer in our bare-floor and pet-hair tests, though it’s not as good when it comes to cleaning carpet. Miele vacuums have a devoted following, and in our member surveys, the brand earns top scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction. For the last few weeks, this vacuum has been selling at close to $800, so you’re getting a good deal with this price.

If you’re a pet owner looking for a vac strong enough to handle your pet’s stray hair, this one should be on your shortlist. The Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly UltraPlush 81714 lives up to its name and overshines other canisters for picking up fur. It’s also top-notch at cleaning bare floors and very good at removing debris from carpets.

    Steam Mops

It’s hard to find fault with the Tineco Floor One S5, which is exemplary at cleaning stains off of ceramic tiles and producing steam. It also scores a very good rating on our convenience test, meaning it’s easy and comfortable to use. While we’ve only tested its steaming ability, the Floor One is a multifunctional floor cleaner that can vacuum, wash, and steam your floors. The price we’re seeing now is the lowest we see this model sell for.

The Steam & Go Housekeeper 10-in-1 SAG806D is impressive at cleaning stains off tile floors. Its runtime is long, lasting around 19 minutes on its maximum setting. It also comes with many convenient tools, including attachments for cleaning tile grout, clothes, furniture, and carpets.

The PurSteam 10-in-1 Therma Pro 211 is notably lightweight—it weighs around 6 pounds when it’s being used. It got an excellent score on our cleaning test and has a very good steam rate. The model comes with variable steam levels and has an estimated steaming time of 18 minutes.

    Carpet Cleaners

A high performer among the portable carpet cleaners we tested (which as a group clean less effectively than full-sized machines), the Shark StainStriker PX201 Carpet Cleaner is decent at cleaning stains and impressive at removing cleaning solutions from carpets, leaving them dry. We also gave it a very good score for convenience, which combines cord length, weight, and ease of filling and emptying. It comes with a 57-inch hose and other attachments, including pet tools.

The Hoover SmartWash+ Automatic FH52000 is convenient to handle, adequate at removing red-clay stains from carpet, and outstanding at removing cleaning solution to leave carpets dry, according to our tests. The model comes with a hose and has separate tanks for clean and dirty water.

The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam Pet 3432 is a great choice, thanks to its strong performance—it scores very well in our tests for cleaning, drying, and convenience. It comes with a 2-in-1 pet upholstery tool and a 6-inch tough stain tool, making it especially handy if you have stairs to clean or want to use it on large furniture. This carpet cleaner typically costs about $100 more than higher-performing Bissells in our ratings, so it’s definitely better to buy it when it’s on sale.
