Our recommendations reflect more than performance. Electric scooters can pose significant injury risks even during normal use. Their standing riding position, small wheels, limited tire contact patch, and exposure to potholes, curbs, and uneven or wet surfaces can make riders vulnerable to sudden falls and injuries. Because these risks are inherent to the design and foreseeable use of electric scooters, we do not currently recommend any models, regardless of their performance in our ratings. If you choose to ride an electric scooter, always wear appropriate safety gear, including a properly fitted bike helmet, a critical piece of safety equipment.
