Design and features:This home/studio-style, over-ear noise-canceling model has a closed design and electronic noise canceling that reduces both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. Unlike some models, these headphones will work either with or without the noise-canceling feature being activated; you can use the noise-canceling feature without listening to music. The audio cable is detachable if you want to use the headphones for noise reduction only. The headphones have medium sensitivity regardless of whether the noise-canceling feature is turned on or off, so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and all but the lowest-powered portable audio devices. This model comes with a carrying case.
Sound quality: We found that the QZ900 delivers very good sound and noise reduction. The headphones have a warm character, with prominent bass that had good impact, but only so-so definition. Midrange was a bit rough and muffled, and highs were recessed and rolled off. These headphones sound best when the noise-reduction circuitry is on; sound quality drops to only good with it off.
Comfort: We found that these headphones were somewhat comfortable, as there is a sense of moderately high pressure around the ears. The vinyl ear pads provide an over-the-ear fit, but may be cramped for those with bigger ears, and they might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use.
