Overall this model was very easy to use, somewhat accurate for counting steps, and good at measuring heart-rate accuracy. With recent version smartphones, our experts found it very easy to pair, very easy to interact with, and very easy to connect to charger. In our water immersion test it passed the manufacturer's claim of 164 feet for 30 minutes.

It has a touchscreen display with 240 x 240 screen resolution. Has always-on display capability, on-screen battery indicator, and a wireless magnetic charging dock. It has phone notifications, vibration alerts, and includes inactivity alerts that remind you to move if you are sitting for a long time. It has a find my phone feature and find my watch feature. It can control playback of music stored on your smartphone or watch and has storage of up to 500 songs on the watch. Has WiFi, GPS and NFC. The manufacturer offers changeable straps and it has a weather at-wrist feature. The Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music records heart rate while swimming, has VIRB remote for camera control, is compatible with Garmin Connect mobile, and supports ANT+ sensors. It has multi-sport tracking features: walking, running, biking, swimming, and seventeen more sports and activities selectable from the watch.
