Design and features:This portable earbud model's non-isolating design doesn't muffle outside sounds, so you'll be able to hear a doorbell or car horn while wearing these earphones. The earphones have medium-high sensitivity, so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and even lower powered portable audio devices. The EarPod has an inline volume control that works with iPads and some iPod and iPhone models, plus an integrated microphone and player function controls that are compatible with iPads, some iPods, and some iPhones and some other cellphones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some iPhones and some other cellphones. These earphones may not operate properly with some non-iPod players or other audio equipment. This model comes with a carrying case.
Sound quality:We found the EarPods delivers sound quality that falls in the middling range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. The overall sound can best be summarized as a bit boomy, grainy and dry. The bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) is a bit boomy, has so-so impact, and doesn't go deep. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) has very good detail but is a bit thin, constricted, and grainy, and gets slightly congested (think sonic traffic jam) during complex musical passages. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended but a bit smeared and the pronounced upper treble can exaggerate sibilance and sounds a bit dry and papery. The sound also has a decent sense of liveliness and is open--sound-wise it seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears. It also does a decent job of recovering the room ambience of recordings. The sound quality was the same as the Apple EarPods (USB-C).
Comfort and Fit:These earphones do not produce any pressure in ear canal, but users may have to fiddle a bit to find the position that provides the best sound quality.
Medium
Users with small and medium sized ear bowls will probably find that these earphone stay in place with no problems for casual use, are stable during fairly vigorous head movement, and are unobtrusive so it's easy to forget they are being worn.
Large
Users with larger sized ear bowls will probably find that this model is unobtrusive and stays in place with no problems for casual use, but compared to other users they may find them less stable during fairly vigorous head movements.
This model has the same form factor and fit as the Apple EarPods (USB-C).
