    Detailed Test Results

This version of the Bissell robotic vac did a very job at cleaning our bare floors and was impressive at navigating our test areas, but it struggled to clean our carpets. The vac's random pattern allowed it to pass over areas multiple times which increased both its navigation and pickup scores. It is not, however, strong enough to suck up fine powder embedded in the test carpets. The vac also left debris in the corners of both surfaces. It appeared as though it was picking up the hair easily but left a big clump of hair (deposited it) after it picked it up and took another pass to pick it up. The hair was caught in the brushroll and was not easy to clean. The hair wound tightly around the connectors and scissors were needed to loosen tight hair although the ends of the brushroll pop off for easy cleaning. A few plusses: It didn't scatter debris and it was able to navigate over dark carpet which some models will not do. Features: Auto, spiral (works in circles until it encounters an obstacle), wall, single room, manual. This model is not connected. Battery: Li-ion (14.4V, 2600 mAh, 36Wh). Includes: This model has a one year limited warranty and comes with a docking station, remote, 2 extra side brushes, an extra filter and cleaning tool.

    About

The Bissell EV675 Multi-Surface 2503 is part of the Vacuum Cleaners test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Robotic Vacuum models like the EV675 Multi-Surface 2503 are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Carpet: A high score means the vacuum effectively removes surface debris and embedded dust from medium-pile carpet. A top-scoring model picks up more debris from carpet per run.

Bare floors: A high score means the vacuum effectively removes surface debris like sand from smooth hard floors. A top-scoring model picks up more debris from non-carpeted flooring per run.

Navigation: A composite score that includes combined coverage over multiple runs, clearance under furniture and obstacle and entrapment avoidance.
