Detailed Test Results

This Miele vac used a gridlike pattern to excel at cleaning our bare floors. Its strong side brushes made complete contact with our test edges and corners allowing it to score highly in the Edges category. The two side brushes retract as soon as the robot encounters an obstacle, but they scattered debris when they were not retracted. The dual side brushes seem to help make up for low suction as the vac couldn't suck up fine powder from our carpets. It has a small bin size which may mean you'll have to repeatedly empty it. In the pet hair test, it picked the hair up quickly, but not much of the hair made it to the dirt bin. Most of the hair was wound tightly around the brushroll making it difficult to clean. One caveat is that it didn't cover as much of our flooring as other models did. It did, however, navigate over dark carpet which other models wouldn't do. Features: auto, spot, turbo (speed increase, not suction increase) and silent cycles. The robot can also manually be directed using the remote control. It can be scheduled to clean without using the app. App: Scout RX2 version 1.4.3: allows you to schedule cleaning, view cleaning status information using a map view or execute cleaning commands. Battery: Li-ion (14.4V, 30W) Includes: Docking station, remote, magnetic strips and a cleaning brush stored onboard. It has a 1 year limited warranty.
