This 21-pound bagless upright from Panasonic comes with a brush on/off switch for moving between carpeted and bare floors without scattering dust and debris. It features a 35-foot, manual-wind cord and a full-bin indicator to mark when the bin needs emptying. It also offers HEPA filtration, which is intended to block fine particle emissions and may benefit people with allergies or asthma. Many models without HEPA filters do just as well at reducing dust emissions, however. This model lacks an easy-to-reach power switch and suction control; it also does not have a manual pile adjustment feature to raise or lower the machine for different carpet-pile heights.
