The Samsung Powerbot R7065 was exceptional in our bare floor and edge cleaning tests. The brushroll is a combination of a rubber blade and bristles which helped it pick up a variety of debris on the first pass. The front of the machine is squared off in shape which makes it possible to impressively clean the corners of our bare floors and carpets, something with which the rounder models struggle. Instead of traditional side brushes that most models adorn, this model has a shutter that extends down to capture dirt when the vac approaches walls. It edges methodically up to walls and corners and gets extremely close which explains its high Edges score. The design of the edge cleaning device also prevents scattering which many side brushes tend to do. It was able to navigate over most of our lab floors but it would not travel over the black matte carpet in the lab which reduced its navigation score. It was fairly gentle with furniture but did move some of the lighter items in the lab. It picked up pet hair quickly but most of the pet hair was on the brushroll and not in the bin. One positive is that the brushroll is easily removable and the bristles are shallow enough to make the hair removal easy. It avoided getting caught on the tassels of our rug and was able to maneuver over electrical cords in our tests. It was able to transition over a .5 inch threshold. A few caveats: Its profile height is a little higher than other models and it may not clear under some furniture.
