Comment:
Don't be fooled by its size.
I live in the NJ mountains where temperatures drops to (-0) minus-zero, and is currently 7-degrees, with wind chill that makes it feel like 10 below outside. Temperature that will kill you if stranded & improperly dressed.
Despite that, & despite going through one of the coldest & longest winter in 20 years, we've only used our Lasko 6462 to maintain the temperature in our bedroom throughout the winter, due to a non-working whole-house steam heater.
Consumer Reports got this one right... IT WORKS.
If its turned off & we come home to a cold room, once we quickly & briefly warm the room up with a portable propane heater (with the room ventilated of course), the Lasko maintains the desired room temperature without fail.
And though its digital reading may show 54 or 55 degrees, don't be misled.
We use three thermostats, a radio controlled one that links to an outside sensor-transmitter, & displays a combined external, internal thermostat & forecast, plus we have two analog thermostats that also measures the barometric pressure & humidity, and though the Lasko may display 54/55/56 degrees (not sure why), the actual room temperature shown by our other thermostats are a consistently comfortable 65 degrees; our preference.
Bottom line, this is a nice, quite, aesthetically pleasing (and so far) reliable compact heater for a reasonably sized room, which we are happy with.
Get this little Gem.

Comment:
Good heater. Produces plenty of heat or run it on low to maintain heat.
The rotating vent is on top, so it puts heat right where it needs to be and its seems safer. Remote control is useful. This heater is quiet. Have a friend that is going through some health issues & was constantly cold making him feel worse. So leant him this heater & he's using it frequently

Comment:
I've got another model Lasko ceramic heater that has been very good, and I bought this one, based on reviews, including Consumer Reports review... I moved my original Lasko to another room, and put this one in its place. Within 40 days it overheated and melted the plug-end, as well as the receptacle!

I contacted Lasko customer service, who sent me a lengthy email claiming I have an electrical problem in my home. I threw this heater in the trash, and put the original Lasko heater back in the same place, on the same outlet (on the other, remaining, good receptacle.) Guess what? NO PROBLEM.

Lasko company does not do good business, in my opinion.

You will find this same review posted on Consumer Reports.org, and as many other places as I can. This will be how I can recoup my lost money... poor word of mouth! Thank you Lasko!
