Comment:
READ THE USER REVIEWS! BlendTec mixers are very much better than the CR Rating indicates.

There are two blenders that stand head and shoulders above the rest. They are VitaMix and BlendTec. Compared to these two brands, virtually all the others are cheap junk.

The best value blender on the market is Blendtec. If you spend more money to get a premium model VitaMix with the same features as the BlendTec, it is quieter and I believe slightly better. If you don't mind having a basic model, the basic Vitamix is the way to go - assuming you don't mind that it won't fit under your kitchen cabinets. If you like the easier-to-clean, larger jars, and low-profile (and don't mind the loud, powerful motor), get the Blendtec.

Of course cheap is usually a huge feature for CR reviewers and they tilt their reviews that way (which is fine as long as you understand that they seem to have a sliding scale based on price). The more an item costs, the tougher the review. I'm surprised that VitaMix managed a top rating. The Blendtec is the most powerful blender and it is built to last. The Ninja blender is like a Shark vacuum. Nice features, looks good on paper, and built to NOT last.

PS: I have no affiliation with either Vitamix or Blendtec. I just appreciate products made the way they were made fifty years ago.

Comment:
My Blendtec is the most versatile appliance ever, it replaces any need for a stand mixer or food processor. I make everything in my blendtec from smoothies, soup, hummus, breadcrumbs and even cookie dough and it's the simplest thing. It's a breeze to clean.

Comment:
I've used the Blendtec for years. I purchased my first one 13 years ago. I decided to purchase this new product. I gave the 13 year old Blendtec to my church and it is still running strong. They use it for blending smoothies as I did for years when my daughter was a toddler to her pre-teen years. Products that last 13 years are rare. It is noisy, but so is the Vitamix. The blender jars offered by Blendtec do the job from crushing ice to making peanut butter to making smoothies that have the thickness of a milkshake. Their customer service is great when I needed to replace a blender jar under warranty. No additional postage or handling costs or hassles. The Blender jars are easy to clean. Add a little dish soap, a small amount of water and press the soup button. All that is left is rinsing off the soap and hand drying the blender jar. I have no complaints.
