Smoothies Blend so very well. Automatic set time controls. It is a very excellent product up to date. HOWEVER, Customer Service has miles to go to come up to par with other manufacturers. 1. Very long hold times. 2. I ordered my machine with a trade-up exchange March 24, 2015. Did not receive machine till four weeks later. Vita-mix customer service had multiple excuses and promises that proved non-credible. There emails are out of posture. VitaMix claims they are in midst of changing their ordering process. I can only conclude upper management is directing customer service personal to offer and respond in a deceitful manner as a dilatory tactic to cover upper managements failure to operate their company proper. If it was not for the trade-up offer of $100 bucks credit I would have cancelled order. They eventually sweetened the deal with a ten (10) year warranty

Not so good
I have to agree with a previous reviewer that the squat design of the pitcher is no good. I find I have to run the pre set cycles twice to get everything mixed, even with their tamping tool. Considering how much this cost, this is a BIG disappointment. Also, I don't know how anyone makes nut butters in this thing. Sure, you can grind everything up, but how do you get it out without a lot of work. Food processor works better in my opinion. As far as making soup, well that feature can also be a problem when you're trying to blend cold items. The longer you run it at high speeds, the more heat is produced.

Easy To Clean
Quiet As They Get
Not Rec For Dishwasher
Blended Green Drinks
Gelato Frozen Desserts
This is deservedly the highest rated high-speed blender. I have used a number of different models, including other older Vitamix machines. This is discernably quieter. I can't say quiet, but discernably quieter, which is huge. I have a small wet container, a small dry container, and the normal large container. (Among tons of other things) I make fresh almond milk several times a week and then use the dry container to make almond flour from the dehydrated leftover almond pulp. This machine is amazing. That it can, in addition to flour-making, make both hot soups and frozen desserts still blows me away. And that you can buy a re-conditioned model directly from the manufacturer with a muli-month payout plan makes this Rolls Royce appliance accessible to anyone who cares about diet and high-quality freshness in food. It's a toss-up between my Vitamix Pro 750 and my Kitchenaid Artisan for most loved in my kitchen...but I think the VM edges over the line....
