Comment:
it is easy to use and provided me with smooth smoothies, however over time the plastic blender started to show lots of wear and became very scratched and blurred looking and I didn't like that. also any time I used it for salsa it was very hard to get rid of the smell in the blender. I would prefer a glass blender. I had the machine for about 8 months then it broke! it made a terrible noise and smelled of electrical burn. luckily because I bought it at a certain store I was able to return it and get a full refund even after 8 months. at the time they weren't carrying it again in order for me to exchange it so I bought a $40 blender to hold me over, turns out it can make my smoothies just as good as the vitamix could and for a tiny fraction of the price. NO, the new less expensive blender can not make soup like the vitamix but honestly in the time I owned the vitamix I only made soup 2 times. so all in all for what I used the vitamix for I was not happy with the overall quality of the product after paying such a high price for it. I feel that a glass blender would be much more sanitary.

Comment:
I use this a lot -- at least several times per week. It is an important part of my meal preparation. My diet is far better because I have a 750. I particularly like how powerful it is and how easy it is to use.

I do have a couple of minor issues, but ones I really wish Vitamix would address. First, the standard jar needs black markings. The uncolored raised plastic markings are just too hard to see. (I have used a Sharpie on mine, which helps a lot.) Second, the spout is pretty poor with thick things, which accounts for much of wht I make.

I also have an observation -- the standard jar does not do well with small quantities. I strongly recommend also getting the small wet jar. I have both, and I use them about equally. I would not be willing to have just one jar or the other. Get both.

Some of the other reviews hvae made negative comments that conflict with my experience:

* Customer support -- in my experience, Vitamix customer support has been outystanding, and is one of the strong points of this product.

* 5200 -- I had a 5200 and liked it a lot; it is a good machine. I gave it to my nephew when I got the 750 and have never regretted doing so. Both are good, but I find the 750 to be better.

* Squat pitcher -- I really like the reduced height. For one thing, it fits better in my freezer or refrigerator. The only blending problem I have seen with it is trying to do small quantities -- I strongly recommend also getting the small jar to use with small quantitities.

Comment:
I want to keep this simple but helpful. You can just toss anything in there (very little to no pre-chopping). Make sure you don't add stringy things first like parsley (gets wrapped around the blade). Super smooth results - I throw in all kind of veggies, and you won't be disappointed. So easy to clean. Stable considering its power to grind ice and chunks of veggies.
I just don't care for the lid, how it clasps on nor its general design. It's kind of a pain to take off and place on.
