Experts at our National Testing and Research Center tested 28 models in range hoods to see which ones perform best.
We look for:
  • Overall score
    Overall score is based mainly on smoke removal.
  • Smoke
    Smoke is how well hoods contain and exhaust fumes.
  • Volume
    Volume is how quickly models exchange air.
  • Noise
    Noise is based mainly on the low-speed fan setting.
  • Light
    Light is based mainly on how well the hood light(s) provided appropriate and uniform task lighting.
