About This Brand

Tide is the leading brand in liquid laundry detergent with a 28 percent share. In 2007 Proctor & Gamble introduced a full replacement of its liquid laundry detergent lineup, which includes Tide and Gain. The new 2X concentrated formulation provides the same number of loads in a more compact bottle. Tide also makes a wide variety of different detergents for specific uses: HE, Coldwater, Totalcare, Tide With a Touch of Downy, and Tide Ultra with Dawn Stainscrubbers are just a few formulas.

I have used these on my brothers' dark clothes for a long while, but have not used it on my own clothes because of sensitive skin. I place them in the wash FIRST and use them exactly as directed. I recently purchased some new clothes and wanted to wash them in something stronger than my normal detergent and it STAINED all of my new clothing with very dark Blue AND PINK blotches. EVERY ARTICLE. I normally wash my brothers' clothing on a heavy cycle in HOT water, so I can only guess that the reason it never seemed to stain their clothing was due to this - or the fact that most of their clothing is very dark and the stains simply would not have shown.

I've only had one bad experience with a Tide product; that was Tide XK back in about 1970. Aside from that, it has always been a top-rate product.

These pods leave streaks on clothing, and their scent level is much too strong. If I wear a shirt washed with these, I smell like I was mugged by an Avon lady.

I had to re-wash the clothes to get the streaks out. This was with a load of clothes, and with a load of towels. Both were washed in a top-load LG HE machine that got a very good rating from CU. I have not encountered a problem with other pods, powders, or liquids.

I've gone back to Wisk pods for the time being. I use pods because at my age I am getting a bit clumsy and they are easy to handle.
