About - Epson Expression Premium XP-810
The Epson Expression Premium XP-810 is an all-in-one inkjet printer with scan and copy functions, an automatic document feeder, built-in faxing, and both Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking. It works with both Windows and Mac OS. Individual cartridges for each color let you change only the ones that are empty. There's a second tray for full-size paper, allowing you to load letterhead paper, for instance. The printer can print directly on inkjet-printable CDs and DVDs. There's an automatic document feeder to let you copy or scan a stack of pages in one operation. The automatic document feeder can even copy or scan both sides of the pages. The printer has a large, 3.4-inch display screen that can preview photos to be printed from a memory card. It's got a touchscreen, used to control the printer.

I want to love this printer, but I have to say - heed these User Reviews on this Epson XP-800 series printer. We bought this because it prints on CDs- which it does well. In fact on a good day its print quality is fairly impressive. But we returned the printer once because it began to fail to recognize genuine Epson ink cartridges (prematurely it seemed, and then even new, full cartridges wouldn't register). A few more months in and now this refurbished replacement unit is starting to fail to see the black ink tank- I've already tossed a couple that obviously still had plenty in them- but the only fix is a new cartridge and crossed fingers. In hopes of extending its useful life I now keep this printer hidden away and only print an occasional promotional CD to keep its ink lines from drying up.

Best Uses
By far the worst printer I have owned. The ink cost is the highest and that's if the cartridge's even work. On several occasions the printer used all five cartridge's in the set-up process or maintenance mode. Also, just this week the printer ran out of Magenta which I replaced. It then ran out of the other four cartridge's one after the other...all at the same time? I don't understand how Consumer Reports could possibly recommend this printer. Obviously Epson is providing time tested machines. Obviously I am frustrated beyond words.

I use it for printing photos, fax and scanning<br /><br />It is multi purpose with relatively easy setup.<br /><br />It however had printing problems from the get go. even after aligning and cleaning the print heads the black ink had lighter bands in the black portion of a CMYK printout. It also had ink that wouldn't cure on the paper, easily scratching off like a lottery ticket. <br /><br />It also printed photos out a lot darker and the lighter parts looked over exposed.<br /><br />It has complicated print settings for all the different kinds of paper they have.<br /><br />When I contacted Epson tech support via email explaining all these things they said the following:<br /><br />Photoshop uses is a powerful software that uses color management very well, but if doing a double color management, most of time the print output will not come out properly. I suggest you try with different application, and make sure to select the correct medial type.<br /><br />Very Disappointing
