Getting You Frustrated
Comment:
Around 2008 we started a family and wanted to avoid Teflon, so after exhaustive research we bought two of these very expensive Swiss Diamond pans. The cost being justified by a lifetime warrant and a claim of being indestructible. Initially the nonstick was fantastic. We used the fry pan several times a week, but treated the pan very carefully and made sure to handwash to preserve the coating. After about 18 months the nonstick stopped working. After considerable hassle, we had a replacement pan sent to us.
At the time Swiss Diamond indicated that while advertised as indestructible, the pan should not be used on any heat above medium. We followed these instructions religiously, but sure enough after another 18 months of regular use the nonstick gradually stopped working. To add insult to injury, we also learned that the pan has the exact same chemicals that are in Teflon!
We attempted to resolve this second pan issue with the lifetime warranty but the company said our pan showed signs of use on high temperatures. While we followed the instructions and never went above medium or let the pan sit naked on the range, I was done dealing with this company. You've been warned.

Comment:
We have 3 different sizes of these fry pans. Have had them all over 1 year. Initially they were great (therefore we bought 2 more after the first one). Now, our stainless steel pans clean up easier. Scraping eggs off (which cover the entire bottom of the pans) is the normal now. They now stick worse than our non-stick pans. Am looking for a better option, BUT every review I read for most other manufacturer's seem to indicate that 1 year of use is about the best you can hope for. Kind of an expensive option for 1 year's worth of use (sigh).

Comment:
I have owned the 7.5 version of this pan for 2 years. I own many nonstick pans and none compare to the Swiss Diamond. I use it several times a week to make scrambled eggs. Unlike my other pans, there are no metal buttons or tabs inside for the eggs to stick to. Nothing ever sticks to the pan. It is a pretty heavy pan and it has stayed flat on the bottom, which is important for my glass-cook-top stove.
