Recall: 137,000 cases of Kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration along with Kraft Food Global Inc. issued a recall of Kraft's Velveeta Shells & Cheese Single Serve Microwaveable Cups for possible presence of "small, thin wire bristle pieces."

The recall affects about 137,000 cases of the instant macaroni and cheese food product, manufactured in Kraft facilities in Champaign, IL and Lakeville, MN, but shipped to retailers nationwide. The products, sold in individual cups and in four-packs, can be further identified by the following:

The FDA reports there have been no injuries or illnesses tied to the Velveeta Shells & Cheese products contaminated with the foreign matter. However, consumers are urged not to eat the recalled product but instead, take the tainted Kraft product back to the point of purchase for an exchange or a full refund.
