Consumer Reports' auto experts discuss the key news from the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in this latest episode of “Talking Cars.” Though the show lacked any superstar debuts, it did feature many redesigns of important models. Key among them was the new Honda Odyssey minivan. It is a clean-sheet design that includes some very unique features, but Honda didn’t go wild on the styling when redesigning its strong-selling minivan.

On the other hand, Toyota has taken some big risks with the redesign of the Camry midsized sedan. With edgy styling and an emphasis on performance and handling, Toyota is clearly addressing the most common complaint about the Camry: a lack of pizzazz. We discuss the changes, new features, and whether—and how—they may effect this top-selling sedan.

For 2018, GM has two new crossovers: the GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Traverse. Both follow introductions of siblings last year. The Terrain is very similar to the Chevrolet Equinox, which was introduced at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. And the Traverse follows on the heels of the GMC Acadia, which impressed us in testing. But each of these new SUVs differs from its siblings in ways you may not expect.

Finally, Kia surprised the assembled media with an all-new performance car. Like the attractive Audi A7, this Kia is a four-door car with a hatchback. Available in both rear- and all-wheel drive, the Kia Stinger is poised to take on the major German manufacturers.
