Member of Consumer Reports’ Board of Directors since 2025. Janice Abraham served as a well-respected CEO and Board member of a risk management and insurance company owned by and serving schools, colleges and universities. She led strategic planning, data analytics, predictive modeling, capital optimization, customer experience and strategic initiatives for United Educators, an A rated 36 year-old captive insurance company, with strong annual growth, high engagement of staff, award winning on-line programs and exceptional retention of customers. Previous positions include CFO of Whitman College and a senior administrator at Cornell University. Janice serves as a trustee for American University and the National 4-H Council, a board member of WAMU, public radio as an Alexandria Waterfront Commissioner and other local social service organizations.
She is the author of Risk Management: An Accountability Guide for University and College Boards published by AGB Press 2013, Second edition 2020. Janice lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and enjoys rowing, running, reading, hiking and knitting.
