As Manager, Safety Advocacy at Consumer Reports, Oriene Shin works to advance critical laws, regulations and policies that will help protect consumers and their families from unsafe home and baby products. In addition to focusing on product safety, she works on issues related to e-commerce and pushes for greater digital platform accountability for the safety of products consumers buy every day.
Oriene has more than a decade of advocacy experience. Prior to joining CR, she served as Director of Programs & Communications and as Policy Counsel for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, where she focused on advancing the interests of the Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. She has worked on a number of issues, including human trafficking, immigration, and education. Oriene attended Bowdoin College and earned her law degree from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law.
