Ford Maverick Hybrid

Latest Model

2022 Model Redesign Year
The Maverick Hybrid uses a four-cylinder engine and a single electric motor for a total system output of 191-hp. Available in both front- and all-wheel drive configurations, both versions use the same PowerSplit eCVT transmission. The Maverick Hybrid can propel itself on electric power at low speeds, and we got an excellent 37 mpg overall. A bonus for the hybrid is its quietness advantage and smoother operation that's free of the low-rev vibration of the nonhybrid version. The ride is refined for a pickup truck, and handling is very secure. Maneuverability, access, and visibility are commendable, and the controls are super-easy.
The interior ambience is utilitarian. The bed measures just 4.5 feet long, but it's deep enough to be practical, and the Maverick Hybrid's small size makes it very easy to access. BSW, RCTW, LCA, and ACC are optional. LDW and LKA are standard.

2022-Present

2022 Model Redesign Year
The Maverick, based on the Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs, was the first-ever pickup truck to come standard as a hybrid. The base powertrain is a 191-hp hybrid four-cylinder linked to an eCVT and front-wheel drive. The Maverick Hybrid can propel itself on electric power at low speeds, and we saw an excellent 37 mpg overall in our testing. The ride is civilized, and handling is very secure. Maneuverability, access, and visibility are commendable, and the controls are super easy. However, the interior ambience is utilitarian.
The bed measures just 4.5 feet long, but it's deep enough to be practical, and the Maverick's small size makes it very easy to access. FCW and AEB with pedestrian detection come standard. BSW and RCTW are available. A 2025 refresh brought a larger center screen and an updated infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The climate controls were moved into the touchscreen. All Maverick Hybrids received refreshed styling, with updated headlamps and a redesigned front bumper and grille. All-wheel drive became available, and LDW and LKA became standard.
