Ford models are known for crisp handling, absorbent ride, and solid feel. The EcoBoost engines typically have good performance, but fuel economy often doesn’t match the "Eco" hype. The truck and SUV versions are quite strong. Like most manufacturers, Ford is doubling down on its SUV offerings, as well as adding a new small pickup, the Maverick. Ford’s first dedicated foray into the EV market, the Mustang Mach-E, did well in our tests and is one of the most enjoyable EVs on the market. It will soon be joined by the company’s first all-electric pickup, the F-150 Lightning. Overall, most Fords have mixed reliability. While high points include the Ford Bronco Sport, Mustang Mach-E, and Ranger; the Mustang and Explorer are dismal.
