Blower (fan) motor, A/C compressor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate control, refrigerant leakage, electrical failure.
What Owners Say
"Just like every problem in the enclave you first need to disassemble the car, this included taking about the dash and removing the front seats."
Dan C., MN (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"A/C system broke completely and they are still unable to fix it despite 2 (expensive) trips to the dealer"
Anonymous, VA (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"My A/C lost refrigerant. Buick dealer said Compressor went along with radiator, air bags and steering.Cost was $5800 and this was only 57 days after 60,000mile check-up for $700"
Thomas M., CT (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Both front and rear ac compressors needed to be replaced"
Jeffrey M., AZ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"A/C Compresor & condenser failed and had to be replaced and had to recharge refridgeant three times for leaks"
Anonymous, CA (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Air conditioner wouldn't work. Would blow hot air. Took to dealer which they fixed for $600. I didn't even leave the dealership because it was only blowing cool air on one side. Another $350 and I had the air conditioning fixed. It lasted the rest of the summer. Drive it during the winter with no issues. The next summer rolled around and it is not working again. The initial proble they claimed was plastic adjustable flaps that directed the change over from heat to air conditioning. So, basically spent near $1000.00 and it functioned correctly for a few months now broke again."
Anonymous, IL (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Electronic control of the climate system failed on the drivers side so that it would only blow hot."
Anonymous, NC (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"door when recirculating air, would not close 6 months ago.$350. Now passenger side is cold air, driver side, hot air. TIME FOR NEW CAR!"
Anonymous, FL (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Had put new controls panel in the dash."
Anonymous, IL (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"never worked well. Never able to set correctly. Dealer was unable to help."
Anonymous, AZ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Car battery was replaced. Auto climate control stopped functioning correctly immediately. Dealer had to replace parts that were broken by motors moving control doors incorrectly and had to reprogram the system. Cost $500 over the cost of the battery. Nothing in the owner manual said there was a special procedure required for a simple battery replacement. Not happy with Buick about this."
Anonymous, VA (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"could not switch from air flow out lower vents to upper vents or to defroster (no control over air flow) It cost 1000.00 to fix it. This on top of front engine cover leak(1,500.00) ,bearing replacement in steering column, gasket replacement in transfer case , all within 52,000 miles. Terrible reliability for a car that had been in production for three years."
Bob W., NE (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Rear control failed. Replaced and ok"
Anonymous, ON (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"the system blows warm air from the passenger ducts front all the time. we closed the vent."
Anonymous, PA (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"would not change from air to heat, to defrost. Vents did not change operating positions"
Joy M., FL (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"One instance is the the actuator will not open and close thus not allowing the air to be circumvented to another area in the vehicle. The enclave has several of these and it can be costly replacing each one of them as they begin to fail. The a/c dispatch line went bad and does not allow the climate control to work."
Anonymous, TN (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Can't get it to work properly in cold weather. I live in Phoenix AZ area and cold is anything under 60 degrees. It's all or none when it's 60 degrees outside or less. It either blows out hot air for one side and cold on the other or visa versa. We just bundle up and leave it off. (My wife and I are very hot weather acclimated so we get cold when it is below 65.)"
Richard R., AZ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"The mid level climate control vents do not open making air conditioning ineffective. I have not yet investigated the root cause of the issue"

Sherwin C., NJ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Under warranty evaporator was replaced. Then condenser. Then after warranty expired the blend door actuator failed. Dealer had car for more than 2 weeks to fix warranty problem. Blend door problem has not been repaired"
Joseph D., WV (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Climate control system failed after 15000 mile"

Anonymous, WA (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"The temperature gauge quite working so the car wouldn't cool because it thought it was cooler that it was inside the car. The actuator quit working so it would only send cold air to the floor"

Cold air would continually come from passenger side to the point the entire system was turned off so as not to cool the entire vehicle. Do not know what caused the problem. It was fixed by dealership"
Anonymous, NJ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"you set the passenger thermostat at a warm temperature but it only puts out cold air"
Richard R., AZ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Could not get cold air on passenger side"
Anonymous, AZ (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"ONE SIDE STARTED BEING EXTREMELY HOT AND THE OTHER SIDE VERY COLD AND IT WOULD NOT CHANGE WITH THE THERMOSTAT WAS CHANGED. IT WAS DISCOVERED THE ACTUATOR HAD GONE OUT AND DID NOT ALLOW THE PROPER "DOORS" TO OPEN TO TRANSFER THE HEAT OR AC. IT WAS REPLACED"

Anonymous, WI (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"Enclave has split system - front and rear. Both separate systems. Had both systems go bad. Too much pulling apart the vehiclae to get the repair done."

Suspected lower hose. I went to refill it when it ran out, as the dealer didn't have the time nor the people (Covid-19 related), and the refill nipple is impossible to reach unless the vehicle is suspended. Big disadvantage to me."
Anonymous, (2011 Buick Enclave None 3.6-L V6)"This been going on about 3 years. AC would just quit cooling. Ran hot while on trip. But think that was other issue. The reason I have not fixed the AC is that they would have to take out my dash and replace something. This was going to be well over 2000-3000 to fix. Just not replacing. Will keep putting in Freon."
